Photo-Shoot June 2013

In June I had the pleasure of shooting with talented photographer Ryan Astamendi. I first shot with Ryan in May of 2012 see the blog and photos here.  To contact Ryan click here!

History repeated itself with the outcome of excellent photos, a laid back atmosphere and a  ton of laughs.  I was fortunate to have my amazing makeup artist Evelyn Ramirez glam me. To contact Evelyn click here! The hairstylist, Andy, gave me soft bouncy hair that I fell in love with immediately. To contact Andy click here!

I would also like to thank them for participating in my directorial debut of  "YOLO", watch here!  Enjoy the funny video, behind the scenes candids & of course the final photos.

Bonjour!

I was treated to a romantic weekend in Paris courtesy of my adventurous husband. It was my first time in the city of lights. I never studied French in school, I am not a fan of Foie gras and was apprehensive of the notorious rude French reputation. Well, all my pre-concieved notions were false. The French were kind, minus one angry cab driver. The food was superb. My below average accent on Merci and Bonjour received warm smiles.

I am happy to share my favorite Paris discoveries with photos to compliment the moments. My advice is go to Paris, tomorrow! Eat a lot of cheese, macaroons, fresh bread. Drink a glass of wine, order the best French Champagne. Stroll hand in hand with your love, window shop. Practice your French, visit the Mona Lisa, Eiffel tower & Notre Dam.

Most importantly live like the French, minus the cigarettes.
Linger longer at dinner
Kiss your love in public
Talk for hours at lunch, while using your hands
Enjoy your cafe latte rather than inhaling it
Dress like a lady
Eat dessert first
Appreciate culture & the arts
Ride bicycles in Chanel

At the Louvre. Wore my Chanel necklace, sweater, glasses w Ash sneakers & leggings because of so much walking!

Eiffel Tower at night so romantic

Strolling. I have always wanted a Burberry trench coat, I felt so glamourous, every woman should own a trench coat.

The Queen Mona Lisa in the flesh! Inside view of the Louvre, gorgeous.

Best Macaron in the world at laduree- Caramel is my flavor of choice.

On my way to see the Eiffel tower during the day!

Truth, Lies & Mean Girls

What is it in people that makes them judgmental? Is it that their parents taught them to hate? Hate on different races, religions, classes? Are we all good with a few that are just born evil? Or are we all a products of our environmnets? Like the phrase "You can take the girl out of the trailer park, but you can't take the trailer park out of the girl". This always struck a chord in me. I never liked it. I was raised Catholic, as in Catholic guilt, turn the other cheek, repent your sins & lastly "Do unto others as you would have done unto you". I remember being the new girl in 6th & 8th grades getting my overwhelming share of hierarchy & bullying more commonly known today as "Mean Girls". The sad state of young women today committing suicide due to Facebook bullying and cyber-hell, with horrid videos to boot.

Are we as a culture above forgiveness & sins ourselves? Are we perfection? Absolutely not! Why the witch-hunts then? I will quote another popular phrase that no one seems to abide by "Whoever gossips to you, will gossip about you". Women need to recognize this trait. We need to be the band-aid & the neospirin, to heal this epidemic, to stand up for each other, rather than tear into each other. From ages 12 to 92, cut this sh*t out! Be the bigger & better woman, rise above it, take the high road.
