Baby Shower Details

I pride myself on being a fabulous hostess. I enjoy throwing, organizing & theming a party right down to the color of the napkin rings. I literally become giddy with excitement and anticipation! So my baby shower would be no exception. My best friend Sabrina was throwing it for me, in my new Beverly Hills  home. Sabrina speaks five languages, grew up in two countries, has three kids at the age of 33, is realtor to the stars & knows how to throw a fabulous affair.

The flurry of calls, texts and endless emails began between the two of us, me in NYC and Sabrina in LA. The colors, the theme, catering, photography, times, table cloths, chairs, games, dessert table... it goes on & on. We connected with amazing event planner Mimi and she helped bring the party to a perfect 10. Mimi knew all the best vendors! We had a vision, we wanted it to feel regal so the theme a "Royal Shower" came to fruition. Fit for a Prince and Princess. We incorporated blue for the boy, pink for the girl and of course my favorite color gold as the accent for the crowns.

On a perfect sunny and 75 degree day my baby shower was finally here. I walked outside into my backyard and it was a fairy tale come true! I stepped into a giant white draped tent with crystal chandeliers hanging, flowers everywhere huge pink, blue and white hydrangea, pink and blue balloons floating in my pool, a dessert table to die for and a make your own Mimosa bar. The centerpiece was one long table for all 35 guests flooded with gold chargers, gold chiavri chairs, crown cookies and place cards. The table cloths were handmade satin blush color and the dessert table and mimosa bar had three tiered ruffles in pink, blue and white. It was truly a "Royal Shower"!

I loath the typical baby shower game nonsense and wanted my shower to be an elegant lunch while being FUN! We played two games and the winners were given a bottle of Vodka as their prize. The games were very intimate; the first was "He said/She said" a series of quotes from me and my husband and guests have to know who said it. This games is hilarious, I highly recommend it. The second was titled "Who Know Mamma Best" a series of my personal trivia. Both games were won by different sorority sisters of mine!

I am so blessed with my pregnancy and wonderful friends and family whom came out to celebrate my growing family. I wanted to share with all of you the wonderful vendors that made my baby shower so exquisite.

Girls Just Wana Have Fun!

Once upon a time on a scorching hot day in late September in an extravagant home in Beverly Hills, 6 girls let loose & left their inhibitions parked in the driveway! The Ladies were all together for an editorial photo shoot. Raquel Rischard is a brilliant photographer with gorgeous red hair & effervescent energy. She works closely with her friend Masha whom is a high fashion stylist.  Model Kaki West arrived with her entourage of a glamour team, an assistant plus a baby-girl!  The stage was set with makeup by artist extraordinaire Evelyn with her sweet laugh. Becca is the fabulous hair stylist, with a knack for cracking jokes at perfect timing. Kaki's assistant Angelique with her beautiful 4 month old baby Meggy strapped to her, made sure the shoot went efficiently & smoothly. The shoot was in full motion, moving swiftly and loudly. The women were talking, laughing & the creative juices were flowing. They moved from a pool, to a stariway, to a balcony. Cameras were rolling, fans were blowing, iPhones were ringing, music was blasting, this was a sorority masked as a photo shoot. As the last shot was taken, the ladies air kissed goodbye & off they went. Sometimes Girls just wana have fun & work too! They all lived happily ever after.

I spent the month of August in zip code 90210, home of Rodeo Dr & Hollywood glamour- Beverly Hills! I packed up my husband, dog & beloved long lost Colombian mama/ housekeeper. We headed out West. Every other week we would be joined by our little ones & soon Disneyland would be a second home. I connected with friends, had photo-shoots, met with my PR, hit the pilates studio & even left the comforts of LA for Laguna Niguel. Below I listed my favorite LA hotspots from all our California adventures--restaurants, hotels, beauty gurus, stores etc.

1.) Polo Lounge restaurant inside the Beverly Hills Hotel. My 1st date with my hubby was here so it's good luck for Love! Sit outside among the ivy in the hidden back VIP booths.

2.) In 'N Out simply the best fast food in the world! Delicious burgers only found on the West Coast.

3.) Ritz Carlton Laguna in Dana Point fabulous hotel on the beach with 5 star service & the worlds nicest valet!

4.) Chi Nail Bar I am obsessed with this high end by appointment only nail salon. They specialize in glitter gels amongst the hottest trends in mani/pedis.

5.) Umberto Salon need a blow out or color this top-notch salon will guarantee you "A good hair day." John V does my blow outs.

6.) GEA Photo my friend photographer extraordinaire Eric Gea. Step behind his lens & your beauty will pop.

7.) Runyon Canyon hike this treacherous incline while walking amongst the beautiful sweaty people! Exhale as you reach the summit & take a pic with the Hollywood sign behind you.

8.) Wat Po Thai best Thai massage! Ask for "Mon" & a little Thai lady will walk on your back & kill you with pain that feels so good!

9.) Spray Tans LA perfect spray tans. Blair will come to your home & bronze you. Any custom shade you wish from a golden glow to the deepest bronze!
